for a mere observer like me it is  for fun
but i think for others it is something more then mere fun
there seems to be a good amount of pride,sense of acheivment and even financial
reward attached to the results

i think perhaps the Fritz team right now are not basking in the fun of the
moment sipping iced tea in Teliviv

better that all are on equal playing field from the start

those programs that cannot be run on  standard computers are barred from
competiton

and i would pick...hmmm
