Subject: question about athlon64 and chess program parformance

Hi

I have ordered a new computer, my old trustworthy Dell Precision 220 dual 667Mhz
is beginning to feel a little too slow for me(and the rdram it uses are
expensive like H***).

But the one i ordered is the new Athlon64 3500+ socket 939, and now i wondered
if the L2 cache thats only 512Kb instead of 1Mb would do anything significantly
to the performance ?

btw Anyone have any experience with FreeBSD or NetBSD 64 bit ??
