Perhaps you are bit mistaken with south america. BTW, differences between countries in SA are greater than differences between states in US or countries en Europe. In Argentina and Chile there are not only number of people engaged in chess computerd stuff, but also programmers. There is at least one chilean chess program I know, by young student A. Dieguez. The name is Amyat. I believe in Argentina there are also chess programs. Same in Uruguay and Brazil. There is NOT one serious chess player in Chile without chess databases, programs, etc. Even the coordinator of this place is chilean :-) fernando
