It's not hard to find some papers even in English about research into shogi and
go. Go programs are weak, based on personal experience. Here are two links that
offer something at a glance.

Maybe this will give an idea about the level of interest.

I don't know about Chiense chess. There are commercial programs from a few years
back at least...
