Subject: Question about AMD vs. P4 performance

Can someone give a quick comparison of expected performance achieved by the new
AMD processors.

I have a P4 3.06 GHz, and running Shredder 8 it usually searches 400-450
knds/sec in early middlegame. What would the expected node speed be for a single
CPU:

1. AMD Athlon 64 - FX-53 (Socket 940)
2. Opteron 2 GHz
