Dear Mike, Thanks for responding. I hope you will continue to have a lot of fun and enjoyment playing chess (with non-adjacent Kings in the future :-). But let me repeat: The more you know about Chess, the better it gets. I am not really knowledgeable about "entry-level" chess literature, but I am sure there are lots of folks here who could give you pointers. In my experience, there are plenty of people who don't want to get as "serious" as most of us here are, but are thankful for the greater appreciation of the game they can acquire just by spending some time with a good book that can show them what Chess is about in general.
