I liked the format. The time schedule favors the Europeans a little perhaps as
all games were be played in the evening. I have no problem with a shift to play
only the weekend. It could be alternating Saturday/Sunday but perhaps a fixed
dotw is easier to remember...

One other thing that we could discuss is the scoring of qualification points. It
seems a bit unfair to award a different amount of qualitifation points depending
on how many engines scored the same amount of points. E.g. When there is 1
engine scoring 5 wins, 1 engines 4 points and 1 engine 3.5 points, in total 9
qualification points are awarded.
But when there are 4 engines tied at 3 points, 4 engines as 2.5 points and 4
engines at 2 points, 36 qualification points are awarded.
I suggest a little different scheme, where every round will give out the same
amount of points, sharing the points in case of a tie. So, when using the same
amount of points, the first example would be the same, the second example would
give 2.25 points each to the engines tying for first place.

Perhaps the distribution of points should be altered a little (to give
sufficient opportunities to earn points, e.g. to:
1. 12 points
2. 10 points
3. 8 points
4. 6 points
5. 4 points
6. 3 points
7. 2 points
8. 1 point

Richard.
