Part is I think better preparation against Shredder.

Part is that it is a short tournament.

I would guess that in a long tournament, against very strong opposition,
Shredder will do somewhat better.  But that is mostly speculation on my part.

I would guess also that 2800 GMs have 2600 performances from time to time.

Similarly, 2600 GMs will have a 2800 TPR once in a blue moon.
