A little more experimenting with Dejanews indicated that Deja news would
pull up posts from 1995. Maybe I just have the term wrong -
"multiple lines analysis" seems more popular, perhaps.

It seems Crafty has some such facility: here's a post from Robert:

Already there.  on the "annotate" command... just add your "n" to the
end of the command and it will give you the best N moves, scores, and
PV's...  you can also use the { } characters to include moves you
specifically want analysis for, as in:

1. e4 e5 {e6}
