I guess this comes from N.Petrovic (Sahovski vjesnik 1948).
I have one book (Schach und Zahl) which reference to him with the number 5899
white moves.
I quick search on the net only find other problems by him.

Here you can make your own reference :) Create a program to count this and let
it go through a big database of games. (Report back!)
I think one in here have done this (Diepeveen?) allready.
