No engine searched 2 plies in the match of movei against Jonny. I guess that 64 mbytes or 256 mbytes does not change much in blitz for Jonny but the author may give better opinion about it. I think that Movei does not get advantage from more than 64 mbytes at long time control. I do not know what is the optimal hash for movei but I guess that at some point adding more hash may be counter productive even without considering time to clear hash because of some other history based pruning.
