As stated in the thread, WILHELM is the best sw tool to validate your holding of
Nalimov DTM EGTs.

It is informed by the MD5sums of the Nalimov files and will check that your
files have these MD5sum-signatures.

This has already proved useful because Chessbase apparently sent out one DVD
with a dud 6-man pawnless file. They might have checked their own manufacturing
processes end-to-end but obviously did not.

The reliability of copying and file-transfer is truly awesome: I once tested BT
Broadband by d'loading a 6-man Nalimov EGT from Rob's site over a 24h period. It
checked out MD5sum-wise first time.

However, one need not assume that these processes work.

MD5sum also saved the day when John Tamplin's RAID setup crashed with actual and
potential loss. He was able to prove with MD5sum that almost all the files were
ok.
