Go up one level in this thread

Hi Steve.

I have programmed a PC to play chess (program is called wkchess). The program
plays at the sub neanderthal level (coincidently thats the level I play at). I
very seldom play against the PC chess programs (mine program included) because I
get beat 100% of the time. My only chance at playing PC chess is if I play a
game in xx minutes and there is a power failure then I would declare a victory
for myself. This has not happened yet since power here is quit reliable. On the
other hand I sometimes play the dedicated chess computers. Thank goodness for
the horizon effect in some of the early units. This allows me to win. I play
quite good chess against humans though, but I don't concentrate much if playing
a computer.
