Below is my crafty.rc tbpath=c:\tbs hash=48M hashp=12M cache=4M xboard computer drawscore=0 log off ponder off book on egtb resign 6 exit And here the files in the folder C:\Programme\Arena\Engines\Crafty book.bin book.c bookc.bin books.bin book.lrn position.bin position.lrn crafty.rc wcrafty-19.15.exe crafty.hlp game.001 Can anybody tell me why Crafty sometimes plays (in a comp/comp-match) after 1.e4 the ugly 1...d5? just to be out of book after 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 I thought that Crafty would not play that way. And a last question: does Crafty learn and if no how can this be set in the crafty.rc? Many thanks for your help. Kurt
