Get Fink and save yourself a lot of problems.
It's the beautify of Debian apt-tools but for OS X :)

Once it's installed here is an example of how beautiful it is:

Open terminal:

apt-cache search "whatever"
and it'll give you a listing of software that matches

so in your case try

apt-cache search tcl

Once you get a name, just type

sudo apt-get install tcl
enter password

voila!! everything is done, no compiling, no dependency chasing...


Even if a program has 100 dependency, and those have another 100 dependency...
apt-get will snag them all for you, download and install them without any
problems.

Very nice... plus there is "FinkCommander" which is the same thing but with a
nice GUI so you never have to touch the shell anymore.
