Get Fink and save yourself a lot of problems. It's the beautify of Debian apt-tools but for OS X :) Once it's installed here is an example of how beautiful it is: Open terminal: apt-cache search "whatever" and it'll give you a listing of software that matches so in your case try apt-cache search tcl Once you get a name, just type sudo apt-get install tcl enter password voila!! everything is done, no compiling, no dependency chasing... Even if a program has 100 dependency, and those have another 100 dependency... apt-get will snag them all for you, download and install them without any problems. Very nice... plus there is "FinkCommander" which is the same thing but with a nice GUI so you never have to touch the shell anymore. Take care :) Joshua Shriver
