Congrats. It is the most wonderful change of thinking in a mans life, being a Father. I do not program computers and with a 4 1/2 yr old daughter myself, I am inclined to say that writing a chess program would get you more consistant results than programing (teaching) your child. BUT the results that you will see with your child will make your chest puff out MUCH more than winning any chess game. (Our daughter was born 2 months early, so we did not get to hold her until she was 6 days old. That day the nurse looked straight at me and said "Well, who gets to hold her first?" ....I still have all my bodily parts, so I answered correctly.)
