Hi Ingo
Which book has been used for Crafty. It was
perhaps not the one recommended by Robert Hyatt
according to my tests:
[Event "45 Minutes/Game + 10 Seconds/Move"]
[Site "Engine Match"]
[Date "2004.07.26"]
[Round "1"]
[White "Crafty 19.15 WB"]
[Black "Shredder Classic"]
[Result "0-1"]
1. g3 d5 2. Bg2 Nf6 3. Nf3 c6 4. O-O Bg4 5. h3 Bh5 6. d3
439642<1: 0 0 0 0 (e4 47%, d4 33%, f4 0%, Nf3 8%, c4 7%)
As can be seen, Crafty 19.15 would never play this line as first move
[Event "45 Minutes/Game + 10 Seconds/Move"]
[Site "Engine Match"]
[Date "2004.07.26"]
[Round "2"]
[White "Crafty 19.15 WB"]
[Black "Shredder Classic"]
[Result "1/2-1/2"]
1. c4 e5 2. g3 Nf6 3. Bg2 d5 4. cxd5 Nxd5 5. Nc3 Nb6 6. Nf3
Nc6
1. c4 e5 2. g3
240013<1: 0 0 0 0 (Nc3 78%, g3 16%)
It is most uncertain that Crafty would play 2.g3
Nf6 3. Bg2 d5 4. cxd5 Nxd5 5. Nc3 Nb6 6. Nf3
Nc6
367345<1: 0 0 0 0 (O-O 82%, d3 10%)
7. a3
And again a move that Crafty would never outplay.
Be6 8. d3 Be7 9. O-O O-O 10. b4 {#} Nd4 {+0.19/12
2:31m}
37427<1: 0 0 0 0 (Bb2 64%, Rb1 35%)
11. Rb1 {-0.37/11 1:22m}
And in this situation, Crafty would chose 11.Rb1 out of the book
Nxf3+ {+0.31/12 2:02m}
