Hi Daniel,
I can help answering the questions number 2 and 3 :-)
2.As I always said, building an opening book requires a lot of factors to be sure
that the book is productive:
First of all you must be a chess player yourself so that you can understand what
you are doing, what lines to add to the book,to set the moves priority and test
the book by matching engines and testing over and over again!
In general these are the factors that helps to make an average good opening book
which atleast is "stuipd moves" free :-)
Of course there are some other tricks to optimize the book and to tweak it but
I'll keep them for myself ;-)
Agian in general most of the book creators don't fit most of these factors that
I mentioned and the result is....well,find out for yourself!
Mian lines and sub-lines must be added in the first place to make sure that the
book will answer the opponent's one in most of the cases!
As for the size,in Arena format a book with about 200 000 moves is less than 6
Mb,I don't know about other formats :-(
3.I don't believe in such killer lines....if your book is optimized as I
mentioned above,it will answer correctly to these killer lines to atleast eqaul
the position!
As I said, there are a lot of tricks to improve the opening book and to make it
one of the best opening books in the world! In about year and a half Wizard_Book
will reach the highest levels....be sure about that :-)
Regards,
Dr.Wael Deeb
