When using BeOS I remember the pain of using CodeWarrior and their compiler. Hopefully XCode improves on that. The first priority was to get GCC ported to BeOS. And then VIM or EMACS. And those are enough of an IDE for me. I'm currently having a hard time deciding if I'm going to stick with make or go for Ant or some other extended build tool like Hamster or SCons.
