The two engines are quite different : One characteristic of Shredder 8 is that it has a low branching factor (around 2) and thus rapidly attains high depths. Shredder Classic is more conservative in this respect : maybe it is more like Shredder 7 (which I don't have). On July 30, 2004 at 10:44:59, David H.
