Another issue is one of losses on time. I saw a game between Ruffian and Crafty
which was a drawn position be noted as a loss on time for Ruffian despite the
fact that they had been shuffling pieces for about 40 moves. In my book, that
counts as a draw and not a loss.
As to the hash, did you use 128 MB even for the 10 minute or less games? That
would no doubt worsen the play. Try the Nunn sets and see how they do.
