Subject: PVS searcher in-check pass-through no-hash

So this position appeared in my program's search:

-- ** -- ** -- ** -- **
BP WR ** -- ** -- BK --
-- ** -- ** -- ** -- **
** -- ** -- ** -- WK --
-- ** -- ** -- ** BP **
** -- ** -- ** -- WP --
-- ** -- ** -- ** -- **
** -- ** -- ** -- ** --
Position A

for Reinfeld's Win-at-Chess #6

-- ** -- ** -- ** -- BK
BP -- ** -- ** -- ** --
-- WR -- ** -- ** -- WK
** -- ** -- ** -- BR --
-- ** -- ** -- ** BP **
** -- ** -- ** -- WP --
-- ** -- ** -- ** -- **
** -- ** -- ** -- ** --

The program sees Kf8/g8/h8 in A and rejects all of them due to:

rejected g7f8 in (alpha=-21,beta=-20,value=-21,best=-21):
(value is not > best)

Same for
rejected g7g8 in (alpha=-21,beta=-20,value=-21,best=-21)

Same for
rejected g7h8 in (alpha=-21,beta=-20,value=-21,best=-21):

As a result, "best move" is selected for the position and search
exits without storing a hash move.

Normal? Abnormal?

Stuart
