Allow me to reassure you that all this is understood and that the ICGA is
analyzing several new attractive proposals, including one in the US!
1) The new village of Omigoddi, at the base of Mount Etna. The village was
recently rebuilt after having been covered in lava from a volcanic eruption a
couple of years ago. Future eruptions unlikely to happen, and even if they
should, the warning system has vastly improved.
2) Darfur, Sudan. Once the government finishes its ethnic cleansing, the city
will become a source of propserity and purity, no longer infected by undesirable
elements. In order to illustrate this, they wish to host a major computer chess
tournament.
3) Alcatraz, US. The number of visitors to the famous ex-prison has been in
decline and the new dynamic administration wishes to change this. As a publicity
stunt, the individual games will be played in the cells of famous (or infamous)
inmates. It's also possible Clint Eastwood will open the event. :-P
