Shredder 8 Chessbase GUI, engine match AMD 64 - 3000+, 768MB RAM 2' + 2" Rebel personality 2 Each with own book, learning minimized to max in Shredder. 200MB Hash for each (for Rebel, w8 setting in Wb2Uci.eng file = 200MB hash) All 3, 4 and 5 piece tablebases which Rebel did not seem to use. May? not have been much of a factor as no game reduced to that few ending pieces, but Shredder consulted tbs regularly. Rebel fast, ~ 1500+ kNs often, with Shredder ~ 400+ kNs (typical) Even at this fast time Shredder seemed to consistently search 3-4 plys deeper than Rebel, that is the first number in the search depth given by Shredder as, for example, 12/31, compared to Rebel’s search depth. Rebel only has one number for search depth.
