Hi -- I made the changes. But when I do SEE on the
square e5 after e4, e5, Nf3, Nc6 d4, a6, it returns
-1000. If I do the same but after e4, e5, Nf3, Nc6,
d4, d6, it returns 1000.

I would have expected it to return 1000 after the first
sequence and 0 after the second? Since the first sequence
wins a pawn and the second sequence is even after dxe5
and dxe5.

The code has your fix from below and generates the
next_fig in the order of smallest defender, then
smallest attacker, then next larger defender,
then next larger attacker, etc. The defenders
are absolute value, so they come in like 1, 2, 3
and 2, 3, 4, etc. for both sides. Both are
positive and I am depending on the stm/-stm
to keep the up and down right.

Something is amiss.
