Brian was a very strong chess player, who i had the pleasure to study the Sicilian Dragon with while he was visiting here for his cancer treatments. He was very good friends with my teacher Bob Kiviaho and played many games against us over the phone. Brian will be missed, a terrible day for Canadian chess.
