I don't think that the 1992 math was Spassky's sole motivation.
He is 67 now and had to make his carrier with another genius on the scene.
Noble warriors respect each other...
Spassky defeated Petrosian but was aware that the real challenger is still
waiting.
1992 was an old boys meeting and Spassky handled it this way.
