I would just like you to know that more than one person programs in PowerBasic.
Thomas and I have been in communication for the last year or so. If you look at
his first chess program DeepBasic, the graphics used in that program were
supplied by me from my program Warlord.
PowerBasic has a Counsel Compiler, I don't think that is furnishes graphics with
maybe the exception of Windows types but it can address winboard. The latest
version of Dos PB is 3.5 and it is fast.
When playing in the CCT4 tournment at one minute per move I could only search to
a depth of 6 or 7 plys only but that was on a 400mhz machine. Paying close
attention to details that can speed up the program just might allow an engine to
play much faster.
Go for it and if I can help then write.
Bill
