Well you installed Windows XP while connected to the internet. That was your
first mistake. The second one was not installing some sort of firewall before
you connected to the internet.

Even linux has a firewall of some sorts. I use Mandrake 10.0 and it has a
firewall enabled by _default_.

The Windows XP firewall is not really a firewall....
