Well I purchased Chessmaster 10k at Walmart today for $54.95 CDN. Not bad really. After playing a few games against the weaker personalities I have noticed they are _weaker_ than the ones in CM9000. After 5 games I have a rating of 1845 which is 745 over what it should be :) I had a terrible time playing the lower personalities in CM9000 yet I am able to trash the ones in CM10K. The "Mentor" or "helper" application only seems to work in the opening, and not the whole game. This I found odd. On a good note I love the new interface, and the installation options. While the game comes as 3 cds, you can only use the first cd and run everything else from the cd's themselves. That I liked a bunch. I will play around a bit more and see if I can find anything I like/dislike and decide whether or not to feed the cds to the shredder (not the chess program ;)). The main Chessmaster engine does seem stronger. I only bought it to support Johan. That is all. Peter
