Hi, I aggreed! The programmer of Gothmog started the development of Version 1.x for Arena 1.1. Arena 1.1 will come with the final version of Gothmog 1.0 as partner engine. We have some good ideas to public Arena / Gothmog and Arena / SOS and other partner programs on Freeware / Shareware pages. Have some interesting contacts to bigger companys for publicity CDs. With Gothmog our team have a fantastic engine and we are very happy about it. And ... AnMon, SOS and Gothmog used the MTD search :-) After all my test with Gothmog I believe that this engine will play with Gromit, Tao and AnMon the most aggressive chess from all available freeware engines with an ELO strength over 2.500. Very strong is Phalanx but Phalanx don't have such an high rating as Gothmog, Tao and AnMon. A lot of examples can be found in the database file of the Arena rating list. If persons like to see fire on the board in tournaments must be the programs Gothmog, Tao and AnMon add! Best Frank PS: Don't forget Aristarch 4.50. If I look in the ATL database Aristarch played a lot of short winning games with great tactical moves. Aristarch is for me at the moment with Gothmog the biggest sensation of the amateur chess engines developments. OK, Naum's very hight rating for the first available engines is a sensation too. And the programmer of Fafis improved his engines a lot (Fafis and Naum are not tactical programs).
