Subject: iron for chess

Hi,

I've got an old Pentium 3 @ 1ghz and want to get
something faster that will be good for chess.

How do today's Intel and AMD chips stack up
compared to the above. 3x? 4x? 10x?

Something coming around the corner I should
wait for?

Assume all other chess settings are the same,
hash settings, etc and that native mode
compilation is done.

Currently getting a 10 ply search of the opening
position in about 9.4 seconds.
