Exactly! Think about a bank robbery and how the robber is convicted.
Let's assume a stupid robber caught just in front of the bank with
with a bag full of banknotes. Imagine him also on a lot of photos
and videos taken inside the bank during the irruption. In addition
let's assume he previously disclosed his detailed plan to a colleague of him.

What have to be done? First of all the director of the bank has to
identify every banknote to proof that they have really been stolen
from the bank.

Then the culprit himself has to confirm he has done it.
If he denies he can't be guilty!

Then the final step has to done. A self-constituted judge without any
knowledge of securing of evidence or jurisprudence is going to make the
definite decision. If this outstanding expert absolves the person accused
that one is going to keep the money. That's the way it works, isn't it?
