Usually it tends to be the greater side as you have had a problem with their product so they try to impress you with the other side of their business being customer service. Maxtor especially is greater known for this. Yes they do come with a 1 yr warranty. Since drives are becoming to cheap to replace, really the warranty is the last thing I look at. Peter
