The two Watson books 'Secrets ...' and '... in Action' supersede both Nimzowitch and Euwe. Those books and Yermolinskis 'The Road To Chess improvement', Nunns 'Secrets of Grandmaster Chess'; 'Secrets of Practical Chess' and Baburins 'Winning Pawn Structures' give a more up to date picture of modern chess. And as importantly give advice on how to recognize bunk. And I must also add ALburt and Chernins 'Pirc Alert!' that give excellent insight in the less understood but important elements of Overloading and opening transpositions. After that commented Monographies of the World Champions and Tactical Training books are a definite bonus. MvH Dan Andersson
