After playing several moves without neither Crafty's nor Pro Deo's score changing much, I think that Pro Deo gets its large evaluation from some positional analysis. Maybe Ed let the "secret" out in a earlier post: if king is exposed in the middle of the board with all enemy heavy pieces around then... :-)
