I disagree.

I see no reason to pay for the site if there are other people who agree to
support the site on voluntary basis.

In the worst case if this site is closed it may be still possible to find later
people to support this site or equivalent site for money so I see no reason to
hurry to pay money when it is not clear if it is necessary.
