Hi Steven,

at first, many thanks for CCC all the years. I read it nearly since it starts
and start to write myself some years later. Without CCC really a hole in my
spare time would exist. It became simply part of my life to take a look here...

So well, I understand your step quite well, situation in chess especially for
the retailers has changed a lot. So what to do ?

You've proposed:

>	a) some other organization can take over the responsibility of
hosting and running CCC and CTF
>	b) CCC and CTF can be disbanded and members can rejoin the USENET
           Newsgroups
>	c) members can pay a yearly fee to belong
>	d) members can voluntarily contribute

to be honest I would have no problem with c) or d), but I fear that many will
leave this place then and the forum might slowly die.
If Sean's proposal is a posibility I would definitely prefer that. Maybe (and if
he agrees with that) he just helps with his webspace and traffic and ICD is
still responsible... So that would mean a)
b) has the problem that no real moderation would be possible or the moderators
would be forced to read everything... I think both are no good ideas.

With c) and d) there is the question about what sum we discuss here. If it is
not too high maybe d) is possible, to keep the club alive I would say d) would
work better, the question is how much this would per year when let's say 50
persons donate something...

Besides, any idea if it is possible to find a sponsor, let's say ICC, ChessBase,
Convekta, Ubi-Soft or whatever and to keep it anyway independant then ? Of
course I would like it more to see someone as branch-independant as you, like
ICC, the proposal by Ingo Bauer...

Greets, Thomas
