Subject: CCC Forum Suggestion

Since I saw at least 2 members offering free bandwidth the only problem
remaining to keep CCC free is maintenance. What do you think about a forum
software like vbulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com) ? It has many features
including moderation and a build in search engine, it has been around for some
time and they provide support if there are any problems.

Three downsides :
   1) no diagrams parsing in messges - not a very big obstacle, I volunteer to
write the code myself for that
   2) it's commercial - that means paying up front $160 but that's one time fee
and that's it - I am sure this could be raised through donations, I offer to
send some money for this
   3) lacks the minimalistic look of CCC that we all like - which might not be
such a bad thing afterall

Except for that I see it as a solution to the CCC problem - what do you think ?

I must add that I am not associated with vbulletin in any way, I used them as
example because I read a romanian forum that uses them
(http://forum.softpedia.com/index.php) and I find it very nice for a forum.

Best Regards,
Andrei
