There is no question that I could make the entire membership happy by continuing to host, administer, and pay the bills for CCC and CTF as I have done, without complaint, for 7 years, but I would not have broached the subject earlier this week if I did not feel as if something had to be done. I bit my tongue (held off saying anything publicly) for almost three years as the software business degraded for the retailer, but I can see the writing on the wall in this business sector, and something must be done to defray extraneous expenses. So, in order to help pay the bills here, and, at the same time, not lose any members who, for one reason or another, feel that there is no acceptable excuse for charging for a forum, I am going to depend upon the good will of those who both agree that the CCC and CTF should be funded by the members and can afford to do so. I will depend solely on donations. Tomorrow morning (Thursday) I will put up on our web site a donation system that will allow members to donate any amount of money from $5 on up. Those who wish to contribute may do so via any major credit card, PayPal, or by check or money order via snail mail. I will also put a link up at the top of the board asking for donations. No matter what the result, I will guarantee the membership that we will keep CCC and CTF running as usual for at least 6 more months, and should the generosity warrant it, I hope we can continue for many, many years to come. The only one gambling here is me. I am willing to take that chance. I hope this is a solution that makes everyone happy. Steve
