I dont think Humans have increased anything in terms of chess since 1994 . well the only thing that changed from 1994 is that During those period Super GMS had little knowledge abt the weaknesses these computers had. However today all GMs (Even Club Chess players know abt Computer Weaknesses) know and are able to utilise on Computer Weaknesses (Closed Positions, Simplifications and Long term Plan Weaknesses). From 1994 I don't think there has been a huge development in Computer Chess (Sure tactical ability, Depth has increased butno great improvement in positional knowledge of the proiograms) to plug these glaring weaknesses. Computers are only winning because of their superior tactical abilities nowadays and the hardwares they are running on are much advanced then in those days.
