Of course the incredible and provenly false allegation of being a clone was the reason not to respond. Can't you imagine the incredible terror that lasted on this man during his examinations? Fritz Reul had to concentrate on his maths examins. These ICGA people phoned his mother if he couldn't do this or that. The reason for this WAS the allegation of being a clone. But try to imagine how you would feel if you knew that you have a prog that is the opposite of a Crafty clone WITHOUT the famous bitboards? In such a stress you can only laugh and continue as if nothing had happened. Because - if you enter into that mess you lose your concentration for the important things to do. Simple psychology. (I'm not saying something about the then formally correct deletion of LIST for the tournament three rounds before the end. Only two programmers had a reason to become unhappy about the strong LIST. You know their names.)
