Well, I am, too. And if you get a chance sometime, I'd like to know what some of these improvements are that he knows about. Maybe he's right, but it would be nice to know specifically. As far as programming genius goes, I think most programmers just stumble along in the wake of genius, getting bounced here and there. I've been bounced around enough to know that reinventing the wheel works only for the few. If I could come up with even *one* original idea, or even an enhancement of an idea, it would be amazing. As it is, I just struggle to catch up and understand the magic that comes from years of hard work by dedicated researchers. Anyway, that's where I'm coming from. And I have a bit of historical perspective, since my Dad helped Shannon write his original article. (You can look it up.) Will
