His note says, "As far as I know..." IOW he's quoting rumour, not known facts.

I've read somewhere it is an invitation tournament. - Maybe Shredder is reserved
for Kasparov, Kramnik or Anand? :-)) Neither of them plays in Bilbao on the
human side... When they'd decide to invite the last three Computer Chess World
Champions - Hydra would be missing.

It would have been better to match 4 vs. 4, not 3 vs. 3 :-)) Then, they could
have included Shredder too. Fritz has drawn with Kramnik, that's why it remains
interesting so far for such events in the first place (and Junior has drawn with
Kasparov).
