You are missing the logic of the argument here. Kurt said that the result
somehow "proves [...] that the number of pos/sec can't be taken as a reliable
value for the goodness of a chess program." Robert is just pointing out that the
results are perfectly consistent with the hypothesis that NPS does matter. He is
not deriving any truth from 10 games; he's just pointing out a flaw in Kurt's
argument.
