Eric, I agree, but we have already taken far too much room for the request for donations. However, I sent the following email to all members (see below). I am trying to keep everything open (that is why the email with the financial details is included in the text of that email) and supply as much information as possible. The only members who will not receive the email are those who have, at some previous time, opted off the CCC mailing list. Steve Dear CCC/CTF Member: If you have been reading the forums in the last few days, you are aware of the current situation with the future of CCC/CTF. To summarize, it has become necessary, because of the retail degradation of the chess software and dedicated chess computer market, that CCC/CTF members be asked to contribute toward the expenses incurred in administering the forums. Please give whatever you can to help keep CCC and CTF alive and well. I have set up a place on our web site for contributions: http://www.icdchess.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi?category=DO - The order form is fully secure. There you may pay by any major credit card, PayPal, or at the bottom of the order form there are instructions and our mailing address for sending a donation via snail mail. If you are outside the U.S. and are choosing the snail mail option, please send either a check in dollars drawn on an American bank or an International Money Order in American dollars (our bank charges us $25 to cash foreign checks and money orders). The three posts that express the situation may be found at: http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?383973 http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?384244 http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?384539 If you have lost your password needed to access the forum, you may retrieve it here: http://www.talkchess.com/remind.html I really appreciate your support.
