Go up one level in this thread

Hi Peter

>Similar to Sean Empey's offer I can easily give CTF a new home if ever it

i wish Steve would let you OR Sean host the CTF
honestly i can't understand why Steve clings to the CTF with such fervor
it has nothing to do with computer chess or even chess for that matter(seldom is
a thread seen even remotely related to chess)
i could understand the need for a sister board if the purpose was to talk about
any subject related to chess(not just chess computers)

i am a member of another site which is devoted to dedicated chess computer's
and i post on several other sites whose focus is mainly chess computers.
none of these sites have a satellite board which serves as a release valve for
members to rant and rave on and the overwhelming number of posts are on topic.
people tend to stay on topic on those sites, because for the most part they are
adults that share a common interest.
on the rare occassion where a posting is way off topic the moderators are swift
to intervene.

you never see the vile language,anti-semetism and neo-nazi postings seen on the
CTF.(not to mention pro-alkeida,anti-US ,anti -Israel etc etc)seen daily on the
CTF
even discussions related to ones faith(Christianity,Muslim,Jewish, etc)generally
degenerate into a screaming ,cursing ,slug fest
its simply disgusting

again i will mention that there are a small few who do attempt to post well
reasoned, informative messages and will reply to a message in an adult fashion
sadly this is the exception rather then the rule

its like trying to discuss Bach or Mozart while in the middle of a Neo -Nazi
rally

this need to be linked up with the CTF is quite astonishing in my opinion and i
guess i just dont get it

Best
Steve
