But testing with books is also testing different quality of books and is
distorting results. Therefore one could argue that either "chess-entities" are
tested as they are delivered (book or not) or you have to deliver a identical
book for all. (In fact testing with books is testing chess-entities as well) It
is impossible to decide what is the "right" way of testing.

Both or with yours  - all three arguments are equaly valid! Your view is just
one of all resonable possibilities.
