The programming part is often very easy. OK, to make it look nice is maybe not so easy. When it comes to more tecnical issues like how to start an extern engine there is a need for a more detailed explanation. I express my needs/ideas in a chessplaying program with a program :) You can take a peek here: http://polarchess.sjakk.biz/index.php?lang=en It is more an alpha than a beta but some of the ideas are: - Playing a game with 'delayed move'. - Easy start from a thematic position. - Explore your openingknowledge with training feature plus some 'advanced' use of engines to find refutions etc. in your reportouare.
