I was running some test today on Crafty when I decided to install it on my AMD
K6-2 computer which runs at 350 Mhz. I set crafty(15.20) up to run a problem on
both computers to compare speeds. The Pentium II @ 333 Mhz runs Crafty twice as
fast as the K6-2-350. Can you explain the large difference in speed between the
two machines? I have done this test on other programs and usually the K6-2 is
10-20% faster than the Pentium II. So the Pentium II running Crafty at twice
the speed is really a shocker. I tried Crafty 16.3 also. Same thing. Two logs
listed below.
